Most South Bay homes built before 1985 are still running on the original clay tile or cast-iron sewer line. Both age out — clay cracks at the joints and lets in roots, cast iron rusts from the inside until the line collapses. We do the repair and replacement work across Redondo Beach, Torrance, Palos Verdes and the Beach Cities.
What we do
- Spot repair — open-trench dig over the failure point. Cut and replace 5–15 feet, backfill, restore the surface.
- Full sewer line replacement — open-trench or trenchless ("pipe-bursting" / lining) when the path is clear and the failure runs the length of the line.
- Cable snake — to clear a backed-up line and restore flow before any longer-term repair.
- Burst pipe and main-line breaks — emergency response when a line gives out.
- Code-compliant cleanouts — every replacement gets a proper two-way cleanout at the property line.
How we diagnose without overselling
If your sewer line needs a video camera inspection to confirm the location and condition of a failure, we'll tell you that's the next step and recommend a specialist for the camera work. Once you have the footage, we handle every dollar of repair, replacement, or trenchless work that comes out of it. We're not the shop that runs a $200 camera so we can quote you a $12,000 job — we focus on the actual fix.
Common signs your line is failing
- Slow drains in more than one fixture at once.
- Toilet gurgles when the washing machine drains.
- Recurring back-ups even after a recent snake.
- Sewage smell in the yard or in a particular spot of grass that stays bright green year-round.
- Mature trees within 10 feet of the line — roots find it.
How we approach an estimate
Every estimate is in writing. We'll never start an excavation without you knowing exactly what the job entails, what materials we're using, and what the surface restoration looks like — call Darren and we'll walk through what we found and what your options look like.
